The politics

Ok, let’s talk about politics. The topic that is ever complicated and the topic that always make my heart skip its heartbeat. I just hate this word; most of the people who got involve on this word don’t do well for humanity…just my 2 cents.

An update on this blog

Yep, i had me a new layee..and one thing more, I even bought me a new domain for this site :). I love the name of my new domain and I will be launching it tomorrow.

Our backyard project

It's so hot today, I'm impatiently waiting for the sun to go down so we can work in our backyard. Our plan for this spring is to plant trees and grass.

We've already started cutting the weeds few weeks ago and last week and we'll just continue it. The weeds here are stubborn that's why you need to dig the roots so they won't come back again. My plan is that after we cleared out these weeds, I'll use a chemical to help prevent weeds to grow.

I'm not sure yet if they have one in store but it's worth a try. I've already bought me 3 bags of grass and I've already tested it. It grows pretty and I'm so excited to seed it.

Alone and reminiscing

I'm alone here in the house, Carlo just went to his office around 1pm today. He'll be done around 10pm tonight. This shift is just fine, we always sleep late at night. I only hope that he'll have a not so early shift tomorrow so at least he can be fully rested before combating work again.

Some plans and weekend gig

I am totally disappointed with the recent purchase I made from ebay. The item I received was not the one I purchase so I sent it back to the seller and demanded an exchange.

The seller said it was ok, but then when they received the exchange, I haven't received any email from them anymore. They suck :) that's for sure and I swear I would never buy from them again.

I've already sent them 3 emails and got no reply. I am still hoping that they'll send me an email back or if they don't I'm going to complain on ebay.

The seller 100% positive feedback is absolutely RIDICULOUS AND FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.

This is absolutely a lesson learned for me.

We had fun

We had so much fun few weeks ago when we went fishing. It was too windy so I always feel like running back on our truck and stay inside while hubby and steph are fishing in the lake. But I did not did that because I don't want to miss the fun.

I am setting up my new site

I am currently developing another website and I'll post it here once I'm done with the set up. It's a little tricky because I used a CRM software (Joomla) and this is my first time to maneuver that software.

Right now, I'm here infront of the PC posting some entries while resting. This is my way of resting. I just can't sit down and do nothing :) .I haven't hopped on the blogosphere yet but will definitely do it later.

A little talk about technology and what's going on about it recently. Did you know that HD Makers ceased it production of HD DVD Players a few days ago? Yep, I was able to read it in the news sites.

It wasn't good but it's ok

I don't know why I'm noting it down here but I guess I only want to share some 'funny' response from someone. Let me fill you in on what happened. On my other blog, I posted a brief note about my life story.

I mentioned about me being thankful of the opportunities that I'm getting online and of the blessings that me and my family is having right now. I also said on that entry that I'm the luckiest person alive to have a husband like my husband. I'm emotionally, physically and soulfully bonded with my husband. We are alike in so many ways, that's I've always been thankful to the Lord for giving me him.

Anyway, it was funny cause the response of a certain reader questioned about my love to hubby and if our love can stand the test of time. When I first read it, it hurt me..it hurt me in a sense that..he's judging me and he doesn't even know me. His words are hard to take.

But then as I read it over and over again, it turned out to be funny and I don't need to take it seriously. I know what I'm doing and I love my family till death and no one can break us apart.

Busy weekend

Hi everyone,

How's your weekend? Ours was a jam packed. We went fishing again this week and we went to cluodcroft town and eat at big daddy's. The whole ride was great, we often stop by at some landmarks and took some pictures.

Hubby and I are planning to have it copied so we can send it to my parents in the Philippines. I miss my family already, I've been here in the States for almost a year now (can you believe that? time flies really fast). Hubby and I are planning to visit GenSan and Davao after 2 years.

Of course I need to get me a job first so I can help on saving the money to go there. I'm going to share some of the pics on our fishing trip on my next post :).

Gunman opens fire at N. Illinois U. hall

It saddens me to read this kind of news, just few days ago, there was also an incident like. Last month there was one and 2 months ago. It seemed that this is what is always happening here. If its not personal issues, its a crime of passion.

It is probably because they are very independent here and doesn't have a close family tie..I don't know. But this type of news scares me.


A gunman opened fire in a lecture hall at Northern Illinois University on Thursday, injuring as many as 17 people before he killed himself, authorities said. "Police are confirming that the shooter is dead by a self-inflicted gunshot," the school said on its Web site.

The university issued a statement on its Web site about an hour after the 3 p.m. shooting that "the immediate danger has passed. The gunman is no longer a threat."

Kishwaukee Community Hospital spokeswoman Theresa Komitas told WLS-TV in Chicago it received 17 victims all with wounds from the shooting or flying debris, including three with serious injuries. She said she knew of no deaths at the hospital.

Just checking on me and asking if everything went ok. He's so thoughtful :). I'm really blessed to have a husband like him. I'm so happy with my decisions. I have a wonderful husband.

An update about ME

Blu-ray triumphs at gadget show

The International Consumer Electronics Show is turning out to be a celebration party for Blu-ray, the high-definition format that Sony Corp. backed, and a wake for a rival movie disc technology pushed by Toshiba Corp.

Just two months ago, Sony CEO Howard Stringer said the fight between Blu-ray and Toshiba's HD DVD was at a "stalemate," and expressed a wish to travel back in time to avert it.

The impasse was broken Friday by Warner Bros. Entertainment, the last major studio to put out movies in both formats. It announced it was ditching HD DVD, and from May on, would only publish on Blu-ray and traditional DVD.

The decision puts a strong majority of the major studios, five versus two, in the Blu-ray camp.

Asked Monday at the show if the Warner announcement decides the format war, Stringer said: "I never put up banners that say 'Mission Accomplished.'" But his cheerful delivery belied his words.

By contrast, the main media event scheduled for the show by the North American HD DVD Promotional Group, which includes Intel Corp. and Microsoft Corp., was canceled because of Warner's defection.

In the news today: Startup promises free wireless web in SF

A Silicon Valley startup is promising to blanket San Francisco with free wireless Internet service, reviving a crusade that crumbled last year after two much larger companies, EarthLink Inc. and Google Inc., scrapped their plans to build a high-speed network for Web surfing.

The system envisioned by EarthLink and Google would have required installing transmitters on street poles and other public property, a more expensive strategy that also involved more bureaucratic red tape and political haggling.

Since starting its tests about six months ago, Meraki has given away about 500 repeaters — enough to provide high-speed wireless, or Wi-Fi, access to about 40,000 people in San Francisco neighborhoods covering a roughly 2-square-mile area.

After raising an additional $20 million from venture capitalists, Meraki decided it had enough money to set up free Wi-Fi in San Francisco's remaining 47 square miles.

Individual privacy is under threat around the world as governments continue introducing surveillance and information-gathering measures, according to an international rights group.

"The general trend is that privacy is being extinguished in country after country," said Simon Davies, director of London-based Privacy International, which released a study on the issue Saturday. "Even those countries where we expected ongoing strong privacy protection, like Germany and Canada, are sinking into the mire.

Although privacy was improving in the former communist states of eastern Europe, it is worsening across Western Europe, the report said. Concerns about terrorism, immigration and border security were driving the spread of identity and fingerprinting systems, according to the report.

Greece, Romania and Canada had the best records of 47 countries Privacy International surveyed.

Malaysia, Russia and China ranked worst, but Great Britain and the United States also fell into the lowest-performing group of "endemic surveillance societies."

The survey considered such factors as legal protections, enforcement, data sharing, the use of biometrics and prevalence of closed-circuit cameras.
